Glade Creek Grist Mill in West Virginia is a famous visitors site. In any season the mill is beautiful. But we chose the winter scene with a fresh snowfall. The painting itself had many architectural challenges, stone, wood, angles, bridges, perspective. The light snow on the trees was accomplished with a mixture of manganese violet, paynes gray, and cobalt blue.
