Giclée is pronounced “zhee-clay” and means to spray. Giclée printing is currently the highest quality standard for printing reproduction prints of an original oil painting. The inks are sprayed on a canvas in millions of droplets of ink onto archival fine-art substrates. The giclée prints use fade-resistant archival pigmented inks printed by professional inkjet printers. The giclée printing process provides better color accuracy and richer depth of color than other means of art reproduction possible. You have different options when purchasing a Marrazzo giclée.
Giclée on canvas.
These reproductions printed on canvas have the greatest longevity of decades. Each piece is individually signed and numbered. These giclées are not embellished (Cindy has not added paint to them). They come stretched on canvas on a standard (3/4″) bar and ready to frame. Another option on canvas is the Gallery Wrap/Mirror Wrap. The Gallery Wrap does not need a frame and has a 1.5″ stretcher bar where the image is wrapped around the outside of the thicker bar. Marrazzo limits all editions. If you have any questions on gallery wrap prices please contact us at Marrazzo@MarrazzoArt.com.
Embellished Giclée on Canvas
The Embellished Giclée on canvas also has the greatest longevity of over 80 years. These could be considered originals because no two pieces are embellished the same way. Cindy paints on each giclée in a different way. For example, changing lavendar flowers to red, or adding flowers where there were previously none, or changing lights from off to on. Cindy personally paints, signs and inspects each step to ensure the best quality.
Giclée on Fine Art Paper.
These reproductions printed on fine art paper have the same great longevity. Each piece is individually signed and numbered. They come ready to frame and should be protected by glass. Marrazzo limits all editions. Fine Art Paper prints tend to be less expensive than canvas prints. If you have any questions on prices for Paper prints, please contact us at Marrazzo@MarrazzoArt.com.
There are 5 types of sizes listed below. The type is based on the ratio of length and width of the painting. For example, Type 1 represents the paintings of the size/ratio of 0.5, where one side is half the length of the other side or for example, 10″ x 20″. The ratio of the two sides is 10/20 which equals 0.5. Some other Type 1 sizes are: 12″x24″ and 18″x36″. If you have seen a painting that is 18″x36″, but you would like to know the other sizes that can be printed of the 18″x36″ image; those sizes are listed as Type 1. If you have questions, please contact us at Marrazzo@MarrazzoArt.com.
Marrazzo Mini Gicleé Prints on fine art paper are great gifts. The price range between $35 and $125 are still of the highest quality reproductions available.
